Dermal Fillers

As we age, natural facial volume loss can lead to a tired, sunken appearance and the development of static lines and wrinkles—those visible even when the face is at rest. Dermal fillers are an effective, non-surgical way to restore volume, smooth deep lines, and rejuvenate facial contours with natural-looking results.

Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid — a substance found naturally in the body that helps maintain hydration, structure, and the youthful plumpness of the skin. These fillers are gradually broken down by the body, with results typically lasting 12 to 18 months, depending on factors like metabolism, lifestyle, and treatment area.

Areas that can be treated with dermal fillers:

  • Under-eye hollows and tear troughs

  • Cheek and mid-face volume loss

  • Lips – for subtle shape and definition

  • Marionette lines and nasolabial folds

  • Jawline and chin definition

A thorough medical consultation is required prior to any dermal filler treatment to ensure your safety and suitability, and to tailor your treatment plan to your unique facial structure and aesthetic goals.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

Does the procedure hurt?

Dermal filler treatments are generally well-tolerated, with most patients experiencing only mild discomfort. Many of the hyaluronic acid fillers we use also contain a small amount of local anaesthetic (lidocaine) to minimise any sensation during treatment.

You may feel a light pressure or small pinch during injection, depending on the area being treated—lips and under-eyestend to be more sensitive, while areas like the cheeks or jawline are often more comfortable.

Topical anaesthetic can also be used if required.

The procedure itself takes 15-30 minutes. However a thorough medical consultation is required prior to this to ensure this is the right treatment for you.

Results from dermal filler treatments are visible immediately after the procedure. You’ll notice enhanced volume, improved facial contours, and a smoother appearance in the treated areas right away.

However, mild swelling or bruising can occur in the first 24 to 48 hours, which may temporarily affect the final look. As the filler settles and any swelling subsides, you’ll see the full, refined results within 5 to 7 days.

Dermal filler results typically last between 12 to 18 months, depending on the treatment area, the type of filler used, and individual factors such as metabolism, lifestyle, and skincare routine.

Areas with more movement, such as the lips, may break down filler more quickly (usually around 6 to 9 months), while cheeks, jawline, and tear troughs often retain results for 12 months or longer.
