Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections use a purified form of Botulinum Toxin A (commonly known as Botox®) to temporarily relax the facial muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles. By blocking nerve signals to targeted muscles, the treatment reduces their ability to contract, softening the appearance of lines and preventing new ones from forming.

This treatment is most commonly used to address:

  • Frown lines (between the eyebrows)
  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
  • Bunny lines (sides of the nose)
  • Lip lines (also called smoker’s lines)
  • Pebbled chin or mental crease
  • Downturned mouth corners
  • Jawline slimming and teeth grinding (bruxism)
  • Gummy smile
  • Neck bands (platysmal bands)

Anti-wrinkle injections are typically used in the upper third of the face but may also be applied to other areas for functional or aesthetic concerns. They can be used both to treat existing wrinkles and as a preventative measure to maintain smoother skin over time.

FAQs

• When will I see the results?

The effects of Botox® typically begin to appear within 3 to 5 days after treatment, with full results visible by day 10 to 14. Most patients notice a gradual softening of lines within the first week. The timing can vary slightly depending on the treatment area, individual response, and muscle strength.

• How long will Botox® last?

The results of Botox® typically last between 3 to 6 months. Longevity can vary depending on factors such as the treatment area, individual muscle activity, metabolism, and lifestyle factors including stress, exercise, and sun exposure. Regular maintenance treatments can help prolong results and prevent the reappearance of dynamic lines.

• Does Botox® hurt?

Botox® injections are generally well tolerated and most patients describe the sensation as a slight pinch or scratch. The needles used are very fine, and the procedure is quick—usually taking just a few minutes. Any discomfort is minimal and temporary. If you are concerned about sensitivity, a topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand.

• How long does it take?

The procedure itself takes no more than 5-10 minutes. However a thorough medical consultation is required prior to this to ensure this is the right treatment for you and each appt is 30 minutes in length to ensure you do not feel rushed in any way.
