Medical Microneedling

Medical microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a clinically proven, natural way to stimulate collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin. This minimally invasive treatment uses a precision device to create micro-channels in the dermis, triggering the skin’s natural wound-healing response and encouraging cellular renewal.

Microneedling is highly effective for treating:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars and surgical scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Uneven skin texture and large pores

A course of 3 to 6 microneedling sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, for best results.

Most patients see significant skin improvement around 6 weeks after the final session, as new collagen and elastin continue to form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the procedure hurt?

Medical microneedling at The Bronte Clinic is designed to be very tolerable, even without the use of topical anaesthetic. While some patients may experience mild discomfort or a slight scratching sensation, especially in more sensitive areas, the treatment is generally well managed and short in duration.

Our doctors and nurses use a precision-controlled device to adjust the depth and intensity according to your comfort and skin type. Most patients describe the feeling as a light prickling or warmth, rather than pain.

The procedure typically takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated and your individual skin concerns. It’s a quick, non-surgical procedure that fits easily into a busy schedule, with minimal downtime required.

You may notice a healthy glow and smoother skin texture within a few days of your first microneedling treatment. However, the most significant improvements—such as reduced fine lines, improved acne scarring, and firmer skin—develop gradually over the following 4 to 6 weeks, as your skin produces new collagen and elastin.

For optimal results, we recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart, depending on your skin concerns and goals. Your skin will continue to improve over time, with long-term benefits in tone, texture, and overall skin quality.
