A smiling older woman with long, grey hair wears a white top. Some hair is gently blowing across her face as she lifts her hand, creating a soft, natural look against a plain background.

Jowls

Jowls are the unfavourable name given to describe the sagging or heavy skin along and below the jawline which occurs as we age

Loss of facial volume and increased “looseness” or laxity of the skin as a natural part of the aging process contribute to the development of jowls. Certain lifestyle and environmental factors including extreme weight loss, excessive sun exposure and smoking can exacerbate their appearance.

Dr Fiona will assess your facial structure during your initial consultation and discuss the best treatment options depending on your area of concern.

Treatments that can help improve the appearance of jowling include:

  • Dermal fillers
  • Neurotoxin
  • Microneedling/Morpheus 8

Dermal Fillers

As we age, natural facial volume loss can lead to a tired, sunken appearance and the development of static lines and wrinkles—those visible even when the face is at rest.
