Bronte PMS & PMDD
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and the more severe form, known as Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), is often poorly recognised and managed, leaving some women feeling at a loss and not knowing where to turn. It is a hugely disabling condition that can affect many areas of a woman’s life including work and relationships
Our Women’s health experts Dr Sam and Dr Dani have a deep understanding of PMS/PMDD and the huge impact it can have on women and their lives.
What will the ‘Bronte PMS consultation’ involve?….Book a Consultation
What will the consultation involve?
During your 45 minute consultation, we will listen and discuss your concerns and your symptoms to understand the impact they have. We will also rule out any other conditions that can mimic PMS.
It may be necessary to perform some hormone blood tests, depending on your symptoms.
It is often helpful if, prior to your consultation, you can keep a daily symptom and period diary. This is crucial in aiding diagnosis and guiding treatment.
Once diagnosis has been established, we can discuss treatment options and make an individualised plan that works for you.
Treatment options could include advice regarding important lifestyle modifications, supplements, hormonal treatments or antidepressant medication.
The option to book a further follow up appointment with one of our doctors is available, or we can refer you back to your own NHS GP.View all Treatments
